One of our McMurray teachers has a famous friend who came to the school today!  The Pirate Parrot visited students at McMurray Elementary, who were dressed up in their black and gold in honor of our special guest.

The PTFT and District staff members would like to extend our gratitude to the PTAs and Student Councils for all of the hard work they put into Teacher Appreciation Week.  The decorations, food, drinks, and messages of appreciation made us feel like "stars" and showed what a wonderful community we have at PTSD.

Cari Williams, Pleasant Valley 3rd grade teacher, received an Apple Award from the National State Teacher of the Year - Pennsylvania Chapter this week!  Educators presented with this special reward are chosen because of their positive impact on their students, school, and community.  Congratulations, Mrs.

Out of 2,742 schools, Pleasant Valley was ranked the #2 elementary school in Pennsylvania by PA Future Ready!  The PA Future Ready website takes into consideration measures such as standardized test scores and student attendance, among others.  Congratulations to the hardworking PV teachers and staff.

This month, the US News and World Report released their annual ranking of Pennsylvania's best elementary schools.  Out of nearly 3,000 schools, Bower Hill was named the #1 elementary school in Pennsylvania! Rankings were based on the 2020-2021 PSSA data in mathematics and language arts.
